Kneeling

Members Portal
Kneeling in meditation provides for
  • more alertness, and
  • less comfort than sitting or lying down
but provides
  • less alertness, and
  • more comfort than standing.

Many are able to kneel directly on the floor.
  • The type of floor makes a difference.
You may wish to
  • provide more cushioning under your knees
with a mat or blanket

You may kneel with a very erect posture
  • with knees bent at right angles,
  • with thighs and spine aligned.
You may wish to kneel more lowly,
  • resting your bottom on your feet,
  • on a cushion on top of your feet, or
  • on a specially designed kneeling stool.
